I met an old friend today. They weren’t my old friend. Their friendship belonged to our property in Whites Creek. They shared with me the passion and love affair that they had developed with a property that once was.
They had spent many a night at our hotel, introducing friends and family to the wonderful charm. They enjoyed meals and wine and whiskey at the former businesses on site. They even shared that they were the last couple to marry at our beautiful rural escape before it closed.
Today, they stopped by with support and curiosity about where we are headed and when we will get there. To me, they are new friends. They bring with them a love that I also share for a land and the tranquility and contentment it invokes.
